Abstract
The present work tries to approach, through a bibliographical research,the importance of NBR ISO 9001 as a strategic resource in the promotion and qualitymanagement. In this sense, the research seeks to contextualize the relevance of thetheme and answer the guiding question that deals with knowing how the implementationof management systems based on NBR ISO 9001 can make companies more competitive. After collecting data, it can be seen that although ISO 9001 certification is not mandatory, it is a great tool for companies to adapt to customer needs by offeringseveral improvements.
