Abstract
This monograph has as its object of research the Law nº 11.340, of August 7, 2006 (commonly known as the Maria da Penha Law), which aims to punish more severely domestic violence against women. We will verify the causes and consequences of this violence among the victims, the relevant points will be presented along with the advances of the new law. The objective of this paper, in general terms, is to show that domestic violence against women occurs every day, it is a social problem that needs to be resolved because it causes irreparable damage to many women around the world and causes damage throughout their lives. The Maria da Penha Law explained in its article 1 the reason for its existence, as it began to restrict and, at the same time, instituted a mechanism for the restraint and prevention of domestic violence against women. According to Article 226, Section 8 of the Federal Constitution. We seek to verify the implementation and implementation of domestic violence courts, in order to effectively apply the laws, assistance measures and offer protection to women in confronting domestic violence, always bearing in mind the dignity of women victims through the people are one of the foundations of our democracy and the rule of law.
